Ben tops Sail Melbourne after 3 days of racing

Day one, 14th Dec, of Sail Melbourne and after a confident start Ben had three steady races, unable to break through for a win his 3,9,6 record leaves him in 6th place and chasing the keenly contested top spot.

Day two, 15th Dec, there was disappointment for all the sailors as high winds gusting at 30 knots in the morning and predicted to increase during the afternoon resulted in the total cancellation of racing.

Day three 16th Dec A successful days racing on day three of Sail Melbourne,  Ben achieved a clean slate of first place in all of the  3 races. With the sun shining and a shifty 10-15 Knot winds from the south west Ben put in a spectacular days racing to lead the fleet by a single point over Zach Railey from the USA.

“I'm getting more comfortable in the boat, and starting to get the feel back,” he said. With a limit of three races a day for the heavyweight dinghy, there are just four more races to sail.
